Korero Pono project

Kōrero Pono is a multi-media art exhibition providing a platform for those affected by Aotearoa's criminal justice system to tell their stories in an ethical and authentic way.
The exhibition includes haka, interviews, videos, written text and photography and aims to challenge and change perceptions about the criminal justice system in line with evidence-based policy shifts.
This project included:
Interviewing 18 individuals who had lived experiences of the criminal justice system and pairing them with 18 artists to illustrate their stories.
Art exhibitions in Wellington, Nelson, Christchurch, Dunedin
and Auckland.
Over two years thousands of people saw the exhibition.
A public consultation session with the Justice Advisory Group.
Presentation to the Aotearoa Youth Declaration.
Hosting a group of community leaders from East Indonesia through UnionAid.
