Speak for Justice

Having open kōrero with our friends and whānau is a powerful way to share your values and influence your community. It helps plant the seed of thought for a different perspective, and helps people see how they can be changemakers themselves.

We don’t need to be experts on justice to know what good justice looks like, but we do all need to talk about justice to help change the conversation and grow support for a better system.

How To Talk About Crime and Justice - A Guide

It can be challenging to write about justice topics in a way that appeals to the people you are trying to influence.

From 2018 to 2020, JustSpeak partnered with The Workshop to develop an in-depth guide on how to talk about crime and justice, based on the science behind effective messaging.  While it is designed for communicators and advocates working to deliver justice reform solutions, it’s a useful read for anyone interested in justice transformation in Aotearoa New Zealand. Read it here.
